A two year deal between Saint-Gobain Isover and Bibby Distribution will extend a partnership that has run since October 2010, with new measures to be put in place to further increase safety, sustainability and efficiency.
Saint-Gobain Group's insulation division Isover will utilise Bibby for a further two years to provide distribution for their sustainable building and technical insulation materials.
Bibby will be introducing a number of new measures, including the deployment of a Kalmar distribution tractor (pictured) to present trailers for loading at Isover's warehouse facility in Runcorn. It is expected to perform up to 40 trailer movements a day.
Eight trucks used on the contract are to be replaced with MAN TGX 26.440 units, equipped with telematic tracking so Bibby can monitor driver performance.
David Lydon, supply chain manager for Saint-Gobain Isover, said: "The contract has been renewed because Bibby Distribution continues to deliver a value for money service, while being highly proactive on health and safety, and committing to deliver ongoing improvement."
The team is working to develop new site specific safety guidelines for the main facility in Runcorn and the satellite outpost in Biggleswade, as well as looking at introducing weekend and night-time deliveries.
