ArrowXL said it would reduce its total mileage by 700,000 miles after expanding its Doncaster operation to meet the growing demands of its clients.
The two-person home delivery specialist said that its 20,000sq ft site would increase the overall capacity for handling deliveries and also streamline logistics, delivering sustainable benefits such as reduced energy usage and better route optimisation.
ArrowXL also said its site expansion would support economic growth in the local community, with the recruitment of an additional 12 full-time equivalent members of staff and an additional variable workforce of six.
Luke Barton, COO at ArrowXL said: “Our new Yorkshire operating centre will not only generate operational efficiencies and take miles off the road, but will also vastly improve access to our network for current and prospective clients in the area.
“As a modern facility it also provides a great place to work for our colleagues as we continue to deliver the highest standards of service.”
Last year, the company said it had invested £5m on 75 DAF LF 7.5-tonne trucks to cope with growing demand.
