Malcolm Group CEO Andrew Malcolm received the Logistics UK Lifetime Achievement Award at the association's annual awards at London's Westminster Park Plaza hotel last night.
He was presented with his award by Logistics UK president Phil Roe, who paid tribute to Malcolm's stewardship of the family firm which celebrated its centenary last year.
Roe also urged Logistics UK members to get behind its Generation Logistics scheme to recruit more young people into the industry which has already reached 50m people. Head of programmes at the CILT Bethany Windsor said Generation Logistics was "showcasing all that is wonderful about logisticss" and asked for more volunteers to get involved "to position logistiocs as a career for the next generation".
Among the winners announced at the awards were Decarbonisation Champion McCulla (Ireland), People Champion Howard Tenens, Last Mile Delivery Business DHL Express, Road Transport Operator DFDS Cold Chain England (this year's MT Haulier of the Year) and Logistics Leader Ian Uttley of Stagefreight.
The event was introduced by Logistics UK CEO David Wells OBE (pictured) and hosted by magician Marc Spelmann and comedian Kerry Godliman.
