Northampton-based Acumen Automotive Logistics has acquired Stobart Group’s enclosed car delivery operations for an undisclosed sum.
The division, which trades as Enable, was formerly a wholly-owned subsidiary of Autologic before it was acquired by Stobart in 2012. It specialises in moving visually sensitive and specialist vehicles throughout the UK and Europe.
The subsidiary of Acumen Logistics, has acquired a 100% shareholding and the assets of Enable. Staff have been moved to Acumen’s Coventry operating centre with Enable general manager Mick Hill retaining his role.
Peter Raybould, director of Acumen Automotive Logistics, said: “We are very pleased to be extending our service portfolio within the UK automotive logistics sector. Enable is a perfect fit with our sector-focused strategy. It will allow us to add specialist enclosed car deliveries to the growing range of services we offer the car manufacturing industry.”
Acumen has already acquired four new enclosed car transporters and said it would completely replace the existing fleet over the next 12 months.
