The Port of Hull is set to expand its logistics facilities after Associated British Ports (ABP) was granted outline planning consent by East Riding of Yorkshire Council to develop more than 4.25 million sq ft of industrial, manufacturing and logistics space.
The 453-acre site includes 212 acres located within the East Hull Humber Freeport Zone, which offers significant tax incentives for inward investors.
Simon Bird, regional director for the Humber, said: “This is one of the premier development sites in the north of England. It’s an exciting opportunity and great to have planning permission so that HIEP can now get up and running.
“The site offers huge potential to support business growth. Port-centric manufacturers and distributors would have easy access to import and export commodities while benefiting from the Humber Freeport status.”
ABP said the site is part of a tranche of more than 1,000 acres of development land across 14 locations, which it has launched “to support the UK’s supply chain, manufacturing, and renewable energy sectors”.
CBRE and Savills are advising ABP on the development opportunities at Humber International Enterprise Park.
