Hermes UK is opening a new distribution depot in Valor Park, West Thurrock ahead of the Black Friday and Christmas peak periods.
The delivery specialist said over 60 permanent jobs have been created at the 157,000sq ft warehouse which will be able to handle over 220,000 parcels a day with the ability to operate around the clock when needed.
This latest facility is part of a major drive by Hermes UK to expand its capacity to meet the surge in online demand during the Covid-19 pandemic and the continuing growth in the sector. The company estimates that it will see record parcel volumes later this year.
