Fowler Welch has commenced a 10 year partnership with Dairy Crest.

The multimillion pound deal started on 5 June and comes after they  revealed they were planning to enter into a partnership in March. 

As a consequence, Fowler Welch has taken over transport operations at the Cathedral City manufacturer’s Nuneaton NDC.

The operator will also work with Dairy Crest to maximise capacity at the site for use by third parties from across the Midlands, which manufacturer has been looking to do since the sale of its dairy business to Müller UK last year.

Dairy Crest will remain responsible for non-transport functions at the Nuneaton site, including warehousing, stock management and customer service.

It will also continue to handle storage and distribution for its stable brands, including Cathedral City and Clover.

Fowler Welch MD Nick Hay said: “We have worked with Dairy Crest to develop a unique solution that will allow both companies to maximise the value of the site.”

Hay added that the deal was a “major milestone for the company” as it provides it with a logistics platform in the Midlands.
