Europa Worldwide Group is to run its apprenticeship driver programme for the second year after its first two candidates passed with flying colours.
Europa’s Warehouse to Wheels initiative is open to both new and existing staff and aims to attract young drivers. The programme includes a year-long apprenticeship to become a qualified category C (class 2) HGV driver.
The scheme's first two apprentices in its first year were Manjot Singh-Bassi (pictured right) and Aaron Golding (left), both 28 year old warehouse employees.
Supported by training provider Seetec, both achieved good marks in their theory and HGV driving tests.

Dan Cook, operations director for Europa Road, said: “Congratulations are in order for Manjot and Aaron for investing so much time, effort and dedication in their apprenticeships – their hard work has certainly paid off.
"Given the pressing need for a new wave of keen, talented and well-trained drivers, we’re thrilled with how the programme has delivered, so much so that we plan to offer it again next year.
“With the well-documented driver shortage gripping our industry, now is the time to be investing in training and development so that we can create a team of enthusiastic and committed young drivers to drive the business and the industry forward.”
