Europa Worldwide Group has entered The Sunday Times top 100 list of private companies with the fastest-growing profits for the first time.

It appeared at 32 in The Profit Track 100 league table – the highest ranked logistics company in the list.

Two other businesses in the transport sector also made appearances; Edge Worldwide Logistics was placed at 78 and service provider Simarco propped up the table at 100.

This year’s ‘Covid-19 special edition’ of the Profit Track reviews the past performance of the featured companies, their contribution to the economy and response to the pandemic.

Europa said that despite the huge number of obstacles it had to overcome during the period, all six of its divisions continued to operate as normal.

The table’s organisers referenced Europa’s ability to open a new £60m, 715,000sq ft warehouse in Corby on time in June 2020, despite the impact of the coronavirus.

Andrew Baxter, Europa Worldwide Group MD, said: “The Profit Track listing is great recognition of how we have continued to deliver a high-quality service for our customers, despite the challenges facing the global economy and the logistics industry.

“This is a triumph, and I would like to thank every member of the team for their continued hard work in making Europa a success.”

As well as Covid-related challenges, Europa said it spent 12 months preparing for Brexit and invested £5m in its customs product, Europa Flow, which launched on 1 January 2021.
