Eddie Stobart has won a new deal with PepsiCo, taking over an operation previously run in-house.
Stobart will be managing PepsiCo’s ambient transport operations across England and Wales, from the existing DC in Birchwood, near its Warrington HQ.
The contract has resulted in more than 300 PepsiCo transport operation employees transferring to Eddie Stobart as of 1 July.
David Pickering, COO at Eddie Stobart, said: “We’re delighted to have been awarded this contract to support PepsiCo’s transport operation.
"Through this partnership, we will work collaboratively to ensure we continue to deliver high levels of customer service, whilst providing more innovative solutions in our rapidly developing network. We are pleased to be part of PepsiCo’s continued success.”
Herlu Rautenbach, senior director supply chain at PepsiCo said: “We look forward to working with Eddie Stobart on our ambient transport operation in the UK. The team has demonstrated a capability and commitment to delivering a first-rate quality of service for PepsiCo and its customers.”
A spokesman for Eddie Stobart said the deal would see the operator moving both food and drink products for PepsiCo.
PepsiCo's products are sold in more than 200 countries with a food and beverage portfolio that includes names such as Pepsi-Cola, Gatorade and Tropicana.
