Delivery Solutions (Delsol) has landed a public sector delivery deal.
The three-year contract under the All Wales Postal and Courier Services Agreement follows the Caernarfon-based firm’s successful bid to join the Hazchem Network earlier this year.
Delsol Director Tony Parry said of the win that it would make the company “the first port of call in North Wales for delivery requirements for the public sector”.
Delsol's abbreviated financial accounts for the year to 30 November 2015 reveal pre-tax profit up 98% to £644,431 (2014: £325,766), while annual turnover was 16% higher at £7.5m (2014: £6.5m).
Parry, who founded the company in 1999 with Simon Walker, attributes its growth spurt to the closure of City Link in December 2014. This saw the firm gain “a good number of new customers” as well as experienced management and driving staff from City Link.
DelSol, which employs 125 staff and runs 34 trucks and 24 trailers, said the appointment of a sales executive, a new warehouse in Deeside, and a rise home and international deliveries had all helped in boosting its performance.
