Clipper has signed a lease on a new DC to handle its new contract with Zara parent company Inditex.
The 343,000 square foot building, rented from Prologis in Prologis Grange Park, Northampton, will be the base for Clipper’s contract with Zara to handle e-fulfilment of the retailer’s online sales.
The new DC should be fully operational by autumn 2015, and will create around 1,000 jobs in the Northampton area.
Prologis UK MD Andrew Griffiths said: “We decided to build speculatively at Grange Park because we believe it offers one of the best opportunities for logistics operators in the East Midlands. We are delighted that the building meet’s Clipper’s requirements and that it was ready in time to meet Clipper’s operational deadline.”
