Bibby Distribution is expanding its operation with Frank Roberts and Sons, which trades as Roberts Bakery, four months after signing the initial contract.

The deal, signed in November following a 12 month trial, was originally for distribution of products from Roberts Bakery sites in Cheshire and Derbyshire.

It will now see 20,000 baked goods delivered into Bibby’s Corby depot for distribution to Leicester, Coventry and along the M1 corridor. The revised contract will service an additional 100 customers, with plans to reach a further 28 underway.

Frank Roberts and Sons logistics director Mark Owen said: “The feedback from our customers has been fantastic – thanks to Bibby Distribution’s speed and efficiency, stores are receiving the freshest possible pre-packaged bread.

"As a result, Bibby Distribution was the clear and obvious choice to support our ambitious growth plans in other regions.”
