APC Overnight has appointed board member Karl Brown as CEO, replacing former CEO Syed Ziaullah who steps down for personal reasons.
Brown founded Goole, Yorkshire-based APC member Direct Logistics in 1998 and has led the company through the acquisition of two Express Logistics depots in Stockport and Nottingham.
He has worked in the logistics industry since leaving school, when he joined the RAF’s transport department.
Brown (pictured left) said the business will focus on high service levels and continuing its growth in a “measured and sustainable manner”.
“It is real honour to take up my new position at a time when the business has been performing so well,” Brown said. “Some extremely high standards have been set by our business over recent years, and I wish to ensure this level of ambition is something we continue to maintain.”
APC chairman Quentin Abel said: “Karl not only brings a wealth of industry experience to this role, but also allows us to maintain continuity, having been a part of the network for 15 years, and part of our board of directors for the last two years.”
APC Overnight’s £15m Cannock hub opened earlier this year, replacing its Essington, Staffordshire site.
