Wincanton has won a three-year e-fulfilment deal to provide home delivery services for furniture retailer Dwell.

The move marks the 3PL’s third win in the furniture retail market this year, after landing a three-year e-fufilment deal with Sofa Club in March and a five-year warehousing contract with sofa retailer Loaf.

The agreement will see Wincanton manage Dwell’s UK and Northern Ireland e-fulfilment, including click and collect deliveries to stores and store replenishment from the Dwell distribution centre in Milton Keynes.

Wincanton will also provide a “white glove” home delivery service, with orders delivered by trained two-person teams.

Customers will also benefit from a delivery booking system which offers delivery date selection, regular order updates and a confirmed two-hour delivery slot.

Orders will be delivered by Wincanton’s home delivery network fleet which operates vehicles equipped with 360-degree cameras and telematics technology.

Wincanton said it is also continuing to invest in its W2 digital innovation programme, which includes cloud-fulfilment systems and robotics. The programme is aimed at driving online growth in the home, and health and beauty sectors.

Paul Durkin, Wincanton digital and e-fulfilment MD, said: “We are excited to be partnering with Dwell and to take on the responsibility of delivering the great customer experience that will contribute to their continued growth.

“As a market-leader in e-fulfilment services, Wincanton’s home delivery solution will enhance Dwell’s customer proposition whilst reducing their cost to serve.”

Emma Long, Dwell chief operating officer, added: “Making sure our customers receive the best experience when they shop with Dwell is a big part of why we’ve chosen to partner with Wincanton.

“Their ability to deliver great customer service and help us to better manage our costs will support our exciting ambitions for growth.”
