Wincanton has taken on two senior executives from DHL Supply Chain and a senior manager from Yodel to strengthen its business development team as part of a wider strategy to drive growth.
Martin Dougherty, former vice president of business development at DHL Supply Chain, takes the role of Wincanton’s business development director.
In his former role Dougherty led DHL’s Supply Chain’s new business growth agenda. He brings over 30 years’ experience in sales management in the logistics industry which includes extensive experience in the deployment of end-to-end supply solutions and inbound to manufacturing.
Kate Jones, former DHL Supply Chain head of network sales UK and Ireland, has been appointed as Wincanton’s consumer head of development.

Jones brings experience from a range of sectors including technology, public sector, retail and consumer and won the DHL Employee of the Year Award in 2018.
Andrew Turner, Yodel’s former head of new business development, has been appointed as Wincanton’s head of development for home and e -fulfilment. He has worked in transport, logistics and supply chain since 2002.
Turner has also worked for XPO Logistics in senior commercial and new business roles, leading new business wins in the retail sector and e-commerce service lines.
