Suttons Group has appointed former Wincanton chief executive Graeme McFaull as its chairman of supply chain and logistics.
He replaces former MD and chairman Michael Sutton, who died unexpectedly last year aged 66. Michael was the son of Suttons Group founder Alf Sutton.
McFaull’s appointment took effect on 4 January.
Current Suttons chief executive John Sutton said that McFaull’s “leadership abilities, coupled with his significant board experience and knowledge of our dynamic industry will be invaluable to the ambitious, competitive, global group that Suttons has become”.
“The group board is unanimously agreed that Graeme McFaull is an ideal candidate to chair Suttons at this exciting stage in the company’s history,” he added.
McFaull said: “I am delighted and privileged to be asked to become chairman of a company with such a rich heritage as Suttons.
“Suttons has grown to be one of the world’s leading logistics and supply chain companies, consistently delivering innovative, cost effective and high quality services around the world.”
He added that he “fully endorsed” the group’s strategy of increasing the number of services it offers its customers while continuing to develop its bulk logistics operation in the UK and overseas.
