Beverley Bell, senior traffic commissioner for Britain, is to become president of the CILT in May.
Bell, who will take over the one-year presidency from Jim Spittle, chairman of standards body GS1 UK, has been vice-president for two years and a member of CILT for nearly a decade.
It is believed to be the first time a TC has held the role. “It is both an honour and a privilege to be given this opportunity to represent the logistics and transport profession during such an exciting period of growth and development," she said.
Bell was named, again, in MT's Power Players list 2014.
