Potter Logistics has expanded its presence in Merseyside after acquiring an additional 87,000 ft² DC on the Knowsley Industrial Park.
The multimodal operator will run its recently-renewed contract with Elanco out of the site. Potter secured a five-year contract renewal with the animal health firm in May, extending a relationship that began in 2009.
A spokeswoman for Potter said it is on track to move into the Charleywood Point unit (pictured right) on the Knowsley Industrial Park, near St Helens, on 1 October. The site is located close to Potter’s Knowsley rail terminal.
The new warehouse complies with both the Medicines and Healthcare Products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) and Control of Major Accident Hazards (COMAH) regulations, as required by Elanco.
MD Matthew Lamb said: “This new facility is the culmination of a year’s hard work from our staff and Elanco. The new DC gives clients the opportunity to store their MHRA and COMAH regulated products in the North West at a well-connected industrial park with rail links.”
Potter Logistics recently expanded its Selby rail terminal to accommodate longer-length freight trains.
