Panther Logistics has won a contract with pet supplies retailer Pets at Home which sees the white glove delivery specialist becomes its two-man delivery partner.
The terms of the deal see Panther provide a seven-day-a-week, next-day delivery two-man services, carrying large items such as rabbit hutches and dog cages. All deliveries will be collected out of Pets at Home’s DC in Swan Valley, Northampton for the next morning.
The Northamptonshire-based company, which was acquired by US-based AIT Worldwide Logistics for an undisclosed sum in November last year, has seen rapid expansion. This latest win follows one with baby brand My 1st Years in April and comes as Panther continues to expand its fleet with an order for 22 new TGL MAN 7.5 tonne trucks as it continues to see volumes grow driven by the surge in online shopping.
Samuel Scott, Panther’s head of sales and marketing, said: “Pets at Home is one of the UK’s best known and respected brands in the pet and retail space and we are delighted to assist in scaling their delivery capabilities following the reliance on online shopping.
“We see ourselves as an extension to its customer’s customer service offering and look forward to helping Pets at Home provide a flexible and professional delivery service to its customers.”
Sam Farhall, Pets at Home head of digital operations, said: “We are always looking at ways we can improve our customer offer and we’re pleased to be working with Panther to offer their specialist two-person delivery service, which will provide a new and easy option for customers who purchase our larger products.”
