Norbert Dentressangle and the UK arm of customer Mitsubishi Electric Europe have jointly purchased a Daf LF Hybrid.
The 12-tonne diesel/electric hybrid has joined the operator's dedicated distribution fleet, which moves large industrial air conditioning units, Ecodan heating systems, spare parts and instruction manuals, for Mitsubishi Electric Europe.
Norbert Dentressangle has handled UK distribution for the manufacturer since 2008, and typically handles 300 orders per day with a mix of vehicles from 7.5-tonne to 18-tonne delivering the palletised goods.
The contract also includes the delivery of up to 300 parcels each day, as well as provision for Hiab and crane work.
It is anticipated that the hybrid will deliver a 17% reduction in CO2 emissions over a conventionally powered truck.
Michael Freeman, divisional manager for Mitsubishi Electric Europe UK, said: "As the market leader in proving heating, cooling and ventilation solutions for commercial and domestic buildings, Mitsubishi Electric recognises its responsibility to the environment - not only in terms of our products but also in how we operate.
"In partnership with Norbert Dentressangle, the introduction of this new hybrid vehicle provides further evidence of this commitment."
Last year Norbert Dentressangle put the UK’s first 26-tonne GVW hybrid distribution truck into service.
