AKW Group saw its annual pre-tax profit climb by more than 60%, despite a £600,000 write off, after it delivered better-than-expected sales at its transport, warehousing and contract packaging businesses. John Hackling (Transport) saw pre-tax profits rise 41% last year, boosted by its newly opened depot in Swindon and Palletline’s decision to base a new regional hub at the depot during the period.
