Ceva Logistics has extended its long-running contract with appliance manufacturer Miele.

The five-year contract extension, contributing $5.5m (£3.7m) a year in turnover, will see the firm continue to provide the manufacturer with a range of services, including two-man home delivery and appliance installation.

Ceva also manages home delivery bookings for Miele, which can be as many as 1,000 a week.

Having worked together since 2004, Ceva worked with Miele through the launch and growth of its home delivery operation.

Ceva executive vice-president UK, Ireland and Nordics, Michael O’Donoghue, said the company’s aim for its service to Miele is “very simple”.

"We wish to offer them the most professional white goods delivery service in the market,” he said.

David Pearce, supply chain manager at Miele, said: “Miele are delighted to extend our longstanding relationship with Ceva. We are confident that new initiatives being implemented will form a major part of our plans for a successful future.”

Eight new vehicles in Miele livery will join the Ceva fleet to support the contract, including five Luton vans and three 7.5-tonne trucks.
