CM Downton is opening a new office and warehouse following growth this year.

The office, which is close to the company’s HQ in Moreton Valence, Gloucestershire, will house 20 staff, previously based at the company’s offices at Quedgeley West.

CM Downton has also taken on a 47,000ft² warehouse in Tuffley to enable it to service new contracts and manage growth.

Downton finance director Richard Downton said: “The new office is the right investment for us; expanding our property portfolio in Gloucestershire and allowing the team to expand into a sophisticated new office close to our corporate HQ.

"We have seen an uplift in orders in 2015, so knowing that we are in the position to increase our core central teams and possess the necessary warehouse space is important to ensure we can continue to provide the highest levels of service.”

The addition of the sites follows a number of investments by Downton in its fleet and warehouse infrastructure, including a £1.5m extension to its Quedgeley warehouse, more than £13m in new trucks and trailers, and £2m in trailer tracking and traffic management systems.

CM Downton's turnover in year ended 30 June 2014 was up 15% thanks to its aquisition of C&H (Hauliers).
