Lancashire-based operator SJ Bargh has been awarded a contract to collect and transport raw milk for Müller-Wiseman Dairies.

The deal will see the operator collect from farms in the north west of England and deliver into Müller-Wiseman’s dairy at Trafford Park, Manchester.

Michael Sidley, the commercial director for SJ Bargh, said: “This is a significant new contract for us because Müller-Wiseman are a key player in the UK dairy market, very progressive in their approach and have aspirations to expand their business significantly.

“We see this as complementary to our existing customer portfolio providing further future growth opportunities for the business, and the contract will be based out of our new Lancaster depot, opened last year.”

Müller Wiseman Dairies is one of four business units within the Müller UK & Ireland Group, which has 19 sites across the country and employs close to 6,000 people.

It is wholly owned by the German company Unternehmensgruppe Theo Müller, who acquired Robert Wiseman Dairies in February 2012 for more than £279m.
