Roadways Container Logistics has secured a three-year contract extension with frozen food supply chain company Edge Worldwide Logistics (EWL).

Roadways already manages more than 200 movements a week for EWL, and has a member of staff based at the client’s Salford headquarters responsible for co-ordinating container movements.

Alan Edge, CEO at EWL, said: “We are delighted to be continuing our relationship with Roadways for a further three years and having a dedicated member of their staff working in-house and forming part of our own logistics team has proved a major benefit.”

Last July rail freight operator DB Schenker Rail UK selected the Roadways Birmingham Intermodal Freight Terminal as its Midlands rail hub.
