CitySprint is continuing its acquisition spree with the take-over of Southampton-based courier firm Dash-It, its third deal since the beginning of September.
Dash-It currently offers services such as storage, chilled and frozen goods distribution and hazchem transport, as well as express delivery. A spokeswoman for CitySprint was unavailable to confirm the size of the business or whether these services will be continued.
The deal follows the acquisition of Bullit Couriers in Brighton earlier this month, and Leeds-based UK Express Couriers in September.
As well as increasing its nationwide coverage, the deal allows CitySprint to offer two new services; ‘in-boot’ and ‘in-night’.
The ‘in-boot’ service will offer business customers the opportunity to have items like spare parts or tools delivered to a specified location, such as the back of a van, before 6am. Items can also be collected for return.
‘In-night’ will use a hub and spoke model to offer customers overnight delivery, including final mile delivery.
City Sprint’s chief executive, Patrick Gallagher, said: “This is an exciting development for our business, and marks yet another integral part of our growth strategy.”

All of Dash-It’s staff have been transferred over to CitySprint.
