Leicester-based Widdowson is reinforcing its 125-strong fleet with 21 new Iveco Stralis Hi-Ways.
The deal, financed through Iveco Capital, saw it take delivery of ten of the units earlier this month, with the remainder to be delivered by Guest Truck and Van in the coming months.
The new units will be used for general haulage and will typically clock up 120,000km to 140,000km each year and be on the road for up to six days a week, with some double-shifted for night work.
The Hi-Ways feature Iveco’s driving style evaluation tool, as well as a package of economy improving features, which Widdowson technical director Harry Hawksworth has “potential to lower our vehicle operating costs”.
Widdowson is Waitrose’s official logistics partner in the Midlands.
