Bibby Distribution has reported “a seamless transition” after winning a contract to manage the full logistics programme on behalf of Dairy Crest subsidiary Fayrefield FoodTec. The rolling contract includes the receipt and storage of raw dry food ingredients from suppliers, product sampling and final delivery to food manufacturers throughout the UK. Bibby Distribution has appointed Paul Kavanagh as its chief operating officer. Kavanagh was MD of Peel Ports Group’s Medway division. He has also held senior positions at NYK Logistics, Christian Salvesen and P&O Ferrymasters. Bibby Distribution will use its full allocation of 25 longer semi-trailers (LSTs) when it takes delivery of twelve more 15.65m models. They will join 13 identical Don-Bur trailers which Bibby added to its fleet in 2012 as part of the on-going trial of longer trailers.
