Ceva has won a three year distribution contract with shoe retailer Macintosh Retail Group, delivering for its Brantano and Jones Bootmaker stores.

The new contract will be run from the retailer’s DC in Coalville, Leicestershire, where around 80% of volume will be delivered by a dedicated fleet. The remaining volume will be delivered via Ceva’s cross-dock network.

Ceva will make around 22,000 store deliveries of around 8.5m pairs of shoes per year. Deliveries will be made at both day and night.

The firm also revealed that it has put a mix of double-deck trailers and rigids into operation on the contract, which it hopes will provide high levels of flexibility for the Dutch retailer.

Jon Evans, senior general manager for business development for the consumer and retail sector at Ceva, said: “We are delighted to establish this new relationship with Macintosh in the UK. The high street fashion market is of particular interest to us as we look to grow our market share with new contracts.”

Macintosh Retail Group UK finance director Terry Boot said: “The combination of a dedicated and network based solution was particularly attractive to us and we are looking forward to recognizing the significant cost savings this will bring to our business and working with Ceva to improve our distribution activities.”
