MOBO award winner Chunkz got behind the wheel of the RHA’s truck training simulator this week at a careers fair in Manchester to promote jobs in haulage.
The JD Foundation organised the fair at the city’s central conference centre to showcase career opportunities for 14-18 year olds.
British YouTube sensation, Sky Sports host and former musician Chunkz, who boasts more than eight million social media followers, got in the queue to experience for himself what it’s like to take control of an HGV.
RHA Training uses the state-of-the-art simulator to help train new drivers. It can be set to replicate different road and weather conditions to give future drivers a true reflection of life on the road.
Visitors to next week’s CV Show at Birmingham’s NEC will also be invited to try it out.
Laura Taylor, RHA HR director, said: “It was great to see so many young people take an interest in our industry.
“We’d like to thank The JD Foundation for arranging this event and allowing teenagers the chance to find careers that inspire them in our sector.”
