Yodel has won the RoSPA (Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents) Gold Award for health and safety for the second year running.
Yodel’s senior HS&E manager, Gerry Prior, accepted the award on the behalf of Yodel’s sort centres and Yodel Transport subsidiary, that were presented the award in recognition of its commitment to high health and safety standards.
Marija Simovic, COO, says: ““Ensuring the safety of our workforce and the public is paramount and it is a priority for us to maintain such high standards.”
Since 2009, the rate of reportable incidents at Yodel have reduced significantly, with the accident rate falling by 76% between 2010 and 2011. The company state that this is a result of policy enforcement, risk assessment, training, monitoring and cascade briefings.
The RoSPA Health and Safety Awards scheme was established in 1956 and awards companies for their commitment to reducing accidents and ill health across the UK.
