Parcel carrier XDP Express is now offering customers its most specific delivery time information to date, after introducing new route planning software into its operation for the first time.
The company, which has a network of 60 franchised depots across the UK, is now able to offer customers an estimated time for delivery or collection from a depot.
XDP is using telematics software from Route Monkey to plan routes, which it hopes will help improve vehicle utilisation and reduce costs, as well as improving the service it offers customers.
Since introducing the service, the company has said that the number of failed deliveries have fallen as customers are arranging for someone to be in to accept the delivery.
MD Louis John said: “This technology will help us better serve those customers who request specific time windows for their deliveries, and further enhance the high level of service that we offer our clients.”
