Wincanton has extended its contract with Co-op for another five years, distributing goods to hundreds of the retailers’ stores across the country.
Under the new arrangement, Wincanton will continue to provide facilities management and transport services from a 340,000sq ft RDC in Wellingborough.
It will replenish 350 Co-op stores across the Midlands, South East and East of England and deliver more than 750,000 cases of chilled, ambient and frozen goods per week.
More than 600 staff will support the contract.
The deal marks 30 years that the two companies have worked in partnership and Wincanton said it was testament to its site management skills, expertise and operational excellence.
James Hurrell, Wincanton MD of grocery and consumer, said: “We are delighted to extend our long-standing relationship with Co-op and look forward to continuing to provide outstanding service, which we’re seeking to enhance even further.”
