WH Malcolm saw both turnover and profit climb in its most recent financial year.
The Linwood-based logistics and construction services group, saw turnover in the year to 31 January 2015 rise 11.2% to £199.9m (2014: £179.7m).
Trading profit, before asset gain, increased 11% to £7.1m (2014: £6.4m), which the multi-modal operator described as a good performance given the relatively low growth being experienced in the wider UK economy.
Andrew Malcolm, group chief executive, said: “Activity levels in the current year in both logistics and construction services divisions are in line with our expectations and we are cautiously optimistic for the year ahead.”
The company was a double winner at this year’s Motor Transport Awards for its extendable skeletal trailer and 50ft container innovation.
Update: since this story was written WH Malcolm published its results at Companies House, which showed an 8% increase in pre-tax profit to £9.5m (2014: £8.8m).
