Waller Transport Services has simplified its tracking system with the launch of a GPS-enabled software application.
‘Traffic’ tracks each job from start to finish, compiles the paperwork and includes a traffic light system that shows the status of a job.
The Ipswich-based company had been using its own in-house system for the last 15 years, but turned to tech firm SimpleClick to create a more modern, user-friendly solution for staff.
Traffic allows each leg of a job to be monitored and PODs can be collected and sent to clients instantly.
The system used GPS monitoring to show the progress of each leg and when a job is running late.
Waller Transport Services partially funded the project with a grant from Transport and Logistical Efficiencies.
Darryn Flynn, Waller MD, said: “There was simply nothing on the market that ticked all the boxes we needed.
“We have found existing systems used by other logistics companies to be over-complicated and bulky.
“Traffic gives up-to-the-minute tracking capabilities, records vital data and allows both Waller and our customers to use this information to streamline services.”
