UPS has opened two facilities within the Olympic Park allowing athletes, team officials and the international media the ability to send and receive packages throughout the Games.
The first 'relay room' will be located within the Olympic Village providing team officials with an outbound service offering packaging, customs advice, security clearance, carbon-neutral shipping and delivery.
The second facility will be located on the High Street at the International Broadcast Centre complex and be set up to handle international media firms shipping large batches of equipment.
Alan Williams, UPS director of London 2012 sponsorship & operations, says: “The UPS Relay Rooms will form a crucial part of our Games-time operations. With security a high priority inside the Olympic Park, we wanted to provide a service that gives athletes and officials the peace of mind to know their items can get to and from home, wherever in the world that may be, with the minimum of hassle.”
