The United Pallet Network (UPN) has launched a new live signature capture application to enhance its proof of delivery offering.
SmartPOD is the network’s third generation of signature capture app, and sees signatures uploaded to the UPN servers in real time. This means proof that a pallet has arrived and been signed for is available seconds after it has been delivered.
The bespoke app was developed by UPN’s dedicated IT development team over a six month period. It is available on Apple and Android mobile platforms.
Other features of the application include a training mode and the ability to create ad-hoc run sheets for one-off runs by scanning the barcode of a consignment, which will automatically be added to the load.
SmartPOD follows the launch of UPN’s track and trace mobile app, which allows its customers to follow the progress of their pallets.
UPN’s IT manager Gary Flockhart said: “We have a really talented team here at Lichfield that has worked extremely hard to bring to market a unique industry leading App.
“The launch of SmartPOD will further improve UPN services and establish our IT leadership position in our sector”.
