The UK Warehousing Association (UKWA) is inviting visitors to this year’s Multimodal exhibition to take part in an adapted ‘speed’ version of the Business on the Move board game, which is aimed at getting younger people interested in a career in logistics.
The game, which will be played under the “UKWA Multimodal Challenge” banner, will see players compete to make the most profit they can by making deliveries by land, air and sea in 15 minutes.
A total of 30 games will be played over the course of the exhibition, which takes place at the Birmingham NEC on 28-30 April. A leaderboard will display the best scores of the day at the show, with the overall winner being invited to the UKWA annual awards and luncheon at The Dorchester Hotel in July to receive the winner’s trophy from Lord Digby Jones.
Peter Ward, UKWA chief executive, said: “Logistics needs to recruit the best young people to meet the challenges faced in our changing industry. We hope that this fun competition at Multimodal will encourage the logistics community to reach out to young people and inspire them to become the future of our sector.”
Sixty places are open to Multimodal visitors. Email info@ukwa.org.uk by 17 April to enter.
