Tullis Russell Papermakers has awarded a five year logistics and warehousing contract to DSV Road, running out of its mill in Glenrothes, Scotland.
The deal expands on DSV’s existing contract to supply freight forwarding services to Tullis Russell throughout the UK and Europe. It sees the papermaking firm outsource its operations for the first time.
Tullis Russell Group CEO Chris Parr says: “As an employee owned business, this was not a decision we took lightly. The move was vitally important to us and it was critical that we partnered with the right logistics company. We are delighted to be working with DSV Road and look forward to working as partners together to deliver real improvements to our logistics operations and ultimately our customer service levels.”
An internal review of the Tullis Russell transport operations at Southfield, Fife was prompted by the end of a warehouse lease.
DSV Road UK MD Jesper Hansen says: “Tullis Russell is a long-standing customer and business partner of DSV Road. We are very pleased that they recognise the value of a long-term business relationship with us.
“We view the expansion of the relationship as a positive endorsement for our company and we will continue delivering excellent levels of customer service. We look forward to implementing the new transport and logistics solution over the next few months,” he added.
