Tech giant Trimble has announced a major refesh of the user interface and trip planning functionalities of its in-cab commercial vehicle navigation tool.

The move is aimed at advancing fleet efficiency by creating safer and more-predictable journeys for drivers.

Featuring Trimble’s proprietary commercial mapping data – including location intelligence from its over five million commercial vehicle-specific locations – the new version of CoPilot aims to combine a modern and intuitive driver experience with the Trimble PC*Miler routing algorithm and its commercial vehicle location database.

”We’re proud to unveil the new CoPilot – our most robust version yet,” said Rishi Mehra, sector vice president of commercial mapping and routing technology at Trimble. “This marks a significant milestone in Trimble’s commitment to deliver precise navigation and ensure safety on the road. Providing drivers with real-time, truck-compliant route guidance is crucial to moving the essential goods we all rely on. Simply put, CoPilot keeps trucks and freight moving – smoothly, efficiently and predictably.”

Trimble CoPilot will be available via the Google Play store from mid-October 2024.
