TNT buys Ivecos following demonstrator trial

TNT has added 20 new Iveco Stralis tractor units to its fleet, following a six month trial with a demonstrator vehicle, covering 80,000km.

The 4x2 units, supplied by Sherwood Truck and Van, will operate with dry freight box trailers decked out in the company’s orange livery, carrying freight and parcels from Alton, Southampton and Byfleet to TNT hubs across the UK.

Steve Davis, national engineering manager at TNT UK, said: “Feedback on the demonstrator we trialled was very positive. In addition to its good fuel economy, we heard only good reports on maintenance and reliability, while drivers also praised the cab.”
