Menzies Distribution has won a five-year national contract with Newsprinters, which will see it providing primary trunking services to the business.
The deal will see the operator transport newspapers and magazines from Newsprinters’ sites to wholesale locations across the UK.
Menzies Distribution has also signed a five year deal with News UK, the parent company of New sprinters, to undertake deliveries to more than 40% of the UK retail network, starting in July.
Darren Barker, MD of Newsprinters, said: “I’m delighted to expand our relationship with Menzies to additionally cover our bulk distribution needs into wholesale.
“Driving collaborative and efficient working across the sector, and within our supply chain, is a core pillar of our strategy; plus with fewer vehicles on the road, we’re also driving a greener business.
It came after Menzies Distribution revealed it had picked up a major deal, previously held by CM Downton, with the Frontline Group.
