Stobart has set up a fund to support projects that tackle climate change and protect the environment.
The Stobart Sustainability Fund is now accepting applications from not-for-profit organisations that require funding support for their projects.
The company said the funding would support green initiatives that reduce carbon emissions or enhance the environment.
Stobart chief executive David Pickering said: “As an organisation, Stobart are fully committed to reducing our carbon footprint.
“However with The Stobart Sustainability Fund we’re looking to take things a stage further by doing more to help others to do the same.
“We want to help improve the natural environment, and to encourage long-term sustainability.
“The Stobart Sustainability Fund promotes community engagement and participation in environmental and sustainability projects. It aims to support these community-led projects and initiatives to help the evolution of a greener and more sustainable world.”
Pickering added: “Stobart has fully incorporated sustainability into our overall business strategy.
“All our key decisions are made with forensic consideration of their impact on the environment.”
