Ian Chisholm has been appointed as MD of the Society of Operations Engineers (SOE) after 14 years with the society.
Chisholm joined SOE in 2001 as an engineering executive, and has been awarded the new role to mark what the society describes as its "next phase in growth".
He said that seeking out “innovative revenue streams” and securing new funding to “guarantee the sustainability of the organisation” will be a priority in his new role.
Chisholm added: “I am passionate about ensuring all three of the Society’s Professional Sectors – the Institute of Road Transport Engineers, the Institution of Plant Engineers, and the Bureau of Engineer Surveyors – are considered the leading voice of their respective industries, which are the backbone of a growing and evolving economy."
