West Bromwich-based Sheldon Clayton Group has acquired the Wednesbury, West Midlands operation of Manchester warehousing and transport firm CFT Services for an undisclosed sum.

The move will see all 30 staff at CFT’s Wednesbury operation move to Sheldon Clayton’s 12-acre, West Bromwich site.

Sheldon Clayton group MD Stephen Pollock said the acquisition would add over £3m to the group’s turnover, which has risen from £5m four years ago to £20m now, including the CFT operation.

Sheldon Clayton, which has 240,000ft² of warehousing at its West Bromwich site and runs a fleet of 65 trucks, is a member of the Pallet Track pallet network. It has made 10 acquisitions in the last four years, including Costin Logistics and FTG Logistics in 2010.
