Birmingham haulier RGF Logistics are set to conduct fuel trials on two Euro-6 Volvo FH units, comparing fuel efficiency and dealer support to the other 80 vehicles on its fleet.
The two 460hp,6x2 Globetrotter XL FH’s will be supplied by Hartshore Motor Group and will be maintained overnight at the dealership on a two-year Volvo Gold repair and maintenance contract.
“The Volvo FH’s driver appeal and our good experience with resale value in the past was a key reason for continuing to choose Volvo”, said RGF Logistics operations manager Terry Harris.
Both units will be coupled to Lawrence David curtainsiders, some of which are fitted with Moffett mounted forklifts. They will work out of RGFs four sites in Birmingham and Corby, averaging 95,000 miles per year.
The two Volvo FH’s are not RGF’s first foray into Euro-6: in June last year it placed an order for a Scania G445 with Keltruck.
