Pullman Fleet Services, Wincanton’s repair and maintenance division, has been appointed by Asda to manage 900 vehicles in the supermarket’s home delivery fleet.
The contract, which covers around half of the Asda home delivery parc, is described by Wincanton as a “comprehensive fleet management solution” that includes around the clock repair and maintenance for the 3.5 tonne fleet in the East Midlands, Northern England, Scotland and Northern Ireland.
Sean Clifton, Asda's multichannel fleet contracts manager, said: "We were adamant that we required a partner that could help us meet our promise of saving our customers money every day. Pullman already provides a comprehensive and successful defect management programme to our nationwide fleet so we were well aware of its capabilities.
"The new repair and maintenance contract provides us with further certainty of cost as well as creating even more efficient working practices," he added.
Pullman MD Graham Hunter said he wanted to provide Asda with certainty of cost.
