Derrick Potter, founder and chairman of Potter Logistics, celebrated the company’s 50th anniversary by receiving the Chairman’s Award at the annual UK Warehousing Association Awards at the Dorchester Hotel yesterday (1 July).
The award, presented by UKWA chairman Tony Mohan, recognises the individual who has worked in and represented the logistics sector over a number of years.
Potter Logistics also collected two more trophies - Joe Jackson received the Young Employee of the Year Award and Scott Wallace was named Warehouse Manager of the Year. Carla Dobson of Samuel Grant Group was named Junior Manager of the Year.
The Environment Award went to Hormann UK, Technical Innovation to Linde Material Handling, the Customer Service Award to International Logistics Group and the Training Award went to Elddis Transport.
Warehouse Company of the Year was point of sale fulfillment specialist MDA.
Potter also truimphed last night at the Motor Transport Awards, taking the prestigious Haulier of the Year accolade.
