Pall-Ex has recruited ex-operator Graham Murray to its board in the role of director of strategic development.
The pallet network said Murray would be responsible for strengthening the network, in preparation for full pan-European coverage.
In addition, he is charged with "keeping its operations streamlined and cost-effective", exploring new opportunities, and seeking out potential new member depots.
Murray started out as a depot supervisor at ANC before founding Transman Distributors in 1994, an operation that became a Pall-Ex member in 1998.
Other subsequent roles have included distribution manger at Transland Group, director at AU Logistics and, most recently, production and logistics manager for Valve Recycling Group.
Adrian Russell, MD of Pall-Ex, said: “His experience and instincts in business planning, development, cost reductions and human management will be invaluable to the organisation, as we continue to expand throughout the continent.
“He also has a unique perspective of the business, having been a member haulier.”
In ay the pallet network appointed a new marketing director.
